Say Goodbye to Cold Showers Once and for All

Can there be anything more disappointing than a cold morning shower?

Either the water takes forever to heat up, or you’re not the first person in the household to need a shower, so there may not be enough left in the tank (and you have to finish washing your hair in cold water)! But even when there is enough hot water for your shower, you step out into a cold and humid bathroom, and no matter how warmly you dress afterwards, you are still going to feel that wet and cold sensation for the rest of the day.

Morning showers in the UK wake you up, not because they are nice, but because they feel so uncomfortably unpleasant. What if this could change?

Ditch the Water Tank

Let’s be realistic. Having a hot water tank is never a good idea in 2026. Nobody wants to schedule their shower around the rest of the household to make sure they have enough warm water. Besides, while a water tank may have seemed like a practical and economical idea years ago, they are actually the opposite of that.

That’s why heat pumps are gaining in popularity. They can use the energy from the surrounding air to heat the water efficiently and continuously, which means you don’t run out of warm water and you are also saving energy costs. This is definitely a better alternative that saves money and discomfort.

Upgrade to a Smart Shower

Even when you have reliable hot water, things are still very unpleasant when you need to fiddle with taps to get the right temperature for your morning shower. Not everyone has the same temperature comfort, and stepping in after someone who likes their shower a little warmer or a little cooler is not a nice way to wake up! Either you burn yourself, or you freeze until you can finally make the right adjustments.

On the other hand, a smart shower can not only plug into your smart home hub to monitor water usage, but it also remembers how warm you like your morning shower.

Step Out onto Warm Floors

Underfloor heating is a game-changer for Brits who hate leaving the warm shower in the morning. No more cold tiles and freezing bathroom! This not only makes it easier to shower and leave the comfort of the warm water, but it also means your bathroom can regulate its moisture level instantly. The underfloor heating ensures there are no puddles on the floor and takes care of excess steam and moisture in the air.

Warm towels

If you are still using a standing towel hook, it’s time to look into heated towel rails that keep your towels dry and warm for whenever you need them. They are one of the best things you can add to transform your bathroom. A heated rail will ensure that your towels can dry fast after taking a shower. If you are used to wrapping yourself in a semi-damp towel that has not been able to fully dry since your last shower, this will make morning showers much more inviting and comfortable.

Once thing is for sure: there’s no reason in 2026 to carry on with an unpleasantly cold shower experience. The question is simply: Which upgrade will you bring first to your bathroom?
