Apple Jacks Adventure Farm

The onset of the Summer Holidays afforded us the opportunity to visit a place that has been on our radar for quite some time now. Apple Jacks Adventure Farm is located in Warrington, around a 45-minute drive from where we live in Manchester. The farm came highly recommended by family and friends, many of whom have visited over the years. Importantly for us, Apple Jacks Adventure Farm is dog-friendly! On a side note, if you’re considering a career in agriculture, there are numerous farm worker positions across the UK, with many farms seeking experienced professionals or those keen to get hands-on and involved.

Activities at Apple Jacks

Apple Jacks Adventure Farm occupies a large patch of land. The owners have made full use of the land and filled the space with lots of activities. Unlike similar sites we have been to, there is little walking involved which makes it great for visitors with limited mobility. All activities are fairly close together so there is little walking between attractions.

Skating

To my surprise, the skating was included in the admission cost (I assumed it would be an extra charge and was pleasantly surprised when it wasn’t). The skates were of good quality and the skating park was of a good size so that everyone could enjoy the fun without feeling too cramped.

Haunted House

My daughter spent a lot of time in the Haunted House. She just enjoyed the whole aspect of it. Once she had completed the circuit, she went around again and again for more spooks and surprises!

Jumping Pillows

Apple Jacks has 2 jumping pillows. These are just like bouncy castles, but a lot bigger and they look a lot more fun! My daughter spent at least 30 minutes on the jumping pillows burning off lots of energy in the process!

Zip Wires

There are a number of zip wires so children are not waiting too long for their turn. The zip wires were fast and lots of fun!

Board Walk

This was another fun activity which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children.

Fence Maze

I was told Apple Jacks had a corn maize maze at one time. Apparently, this has gone now and in its place is the fence maze. I was relieved to learn the corn maize maze is no longer in existence. The thought of running through long grass with hay fever and the threat of ticks landing on my dogs made my eyes water! The fence maze was another activity which occupied a good half an hour, the kids loved it!

Swings

Ever popular with kids (of all ages) are the swing sets. In fact, you’ll find swings at Apple Jacks to suit older and younger children.

Entertainment

Upon arrival, the staff pointed out the daily timetable which listed the live entertainment and shows throughout the day. At lunchtime, we headed down to the disco.

And in the afternoon the children had a blast at the foam party! I honestly couldn’t drag my daughter out of the foam for quite some time (even after the party had finished). I must say, the atmosphere in the foam was fantastic and everyone had a wonderful time!

Other activities which we missed were the Pig Racing and Meet the Mascots. We simply ran out of time and realised we couldn’t do and see everything and so my daughter opted to enjoy some activities and miss some live entertainment.

Food

There are a variety of meals, drinks and snacks on offer in ‘The Grill’. To give you a rough idea of prices – I ordered a cheeseburger, a coffee and a packet of crisps which came to £8. My daughter said the cheeseburger was delicious and the coffee was nice too!

We also enjoyed an ice cream each. These were £3 for one scoop either in a tub or in a cone. The ice cream was absolutely delicious!

We ate our lunch in the dining area. We did have to wait for a table to become available as we ate during the busiest of times during the disco. Once the disco had finished, the dining area cleared pretty quickly.

Visiting Apple Jacks

The admission cost is £13.50 per person (adults and children over 90cm in height) if booked in advance. Children under 90cm are free. Until 31st July 2024, visitors can enjoy a huge 40% saving on admission tickets. And so we paid £16 for the two of us. To be honest, had the tickets have been at full price, it would still have been worth this admission fee.

Parking is close and on-site and is free for visitors. There is also ample parking within just a short walk from the attraction.

One thing I would like to note is that although there are picnic benches dotted around, these felt few and far between. If you do have limited mobility, consider bringing along a chair. Benches or seating areas are not located at every activity and we stood for most of the day. When we did need to sit down, we perched on the floor. Next time I will bring a picnic blanket and or foldable chairs.

I would like to give a special mention to the staff. We encountered lots of members of staff throughout the day. Each person we spoke to was incredibly friendly and helpful. From the staff at the entrance to the entertainment staff. Every one of them was incredibly polite and had a huge smile on their face. Bringing our dogs along comes with certain setbacks (our Poochon is prone to barking which can be rather embarrassing). It was so nice to visit a genuinely dog-friendly place where the staff came and greeted our dogs and didn’t mind the odd bark from Biscuit for their attention! The welcoming staff certainly made the day so much more enjoyable!

Why We Recommend

There was so much to do at Apple Jacks Farm! All the equipment and attractions looked either new or incredibly well-kept. The site itself was very clean (even the dining tables were kept tidy and hygienic). The dogs absolutely loved their day out too and the dog-friendly approach of the site is refreshing! Apple Jacks is great for children of all ages as the variety of activities means there is something for everyone to enjoy. And for the price, you’d struggle to find a comparable family day out in the North West!
