3 Great Ways To Make A Room Look Bigger & Brighter

If you’re living in an apartment or small home, it’s natural to feel like everything’s a little claustrophobic. That’s not something you’ll like, and you shouldn’t have to settle for it. You can make a room look bigger and brighter with a few tips and tricks, some of which are easier to do than you’d think.

Try to focus on a few specific areas, and you shouldn’t have much of a problem getting it done. Some of these could be more notable and easier than others, making them worth trying.

Make A Room Look Bigger & Brighter: 3 Great Tips

1. Streamline Shelves

Shelves can take up a decent amount of space, despite the fact they’re supposed to get things out of the way. If they’re not well-designed or put in the right place, they’ll make a room feel a little more cramped. Try to overcome that by being a little creative with your shelves.

Putting up hanging shelves can be a great option compared to bulkier options, for example. Don’t put too many objects or belongings on them, and you’ll avoid them looking cluttered. While this could mean putting in a little DIY effort, it’ll be worth it.

2. Put In The Right Windows

Windows are naturally responsible for letting the light in, and they’re responsible for letting everything air out. If they’re too small, it could lead to a room feeling a bit cramped, no matter what else you do. With the right windows, however, you shouldn’t have to worry about that.

Make sure you have ones in the right places and that they’re actually large enough to brighten up a room. You’ll end up having a quick and easy impact without needing to move things around. Make sure they’re properly clean while you’re at it, and you’ll have no problem trying to make a room look bigger and brighter.

3. Strategically Place Mirrors

Mirrors are one of the more obvious ways you can make a room look bigger and brighter. They create an optical illusion that tricks your brain into thinking something’s bigger than it is. They also bounce light around, which brightens up the entire room. You’ll need to be strategic in where you place these to see an impact, however.

Putting it at the end of a cramped hallway, for example, could be a great option. Try a few different places, and you’ll end up finding the perfect position for your mirror. Get one of the proper size if you want to make an even more significant impression.

You’ll be in a more comfortable room that feels larger before you know it. Get a few things done, and it’ll be a breeze.
