Our Visit to Disneyland Paris – Walt Disney Studios Park

Our Visit to Disneyland Paris – Walt Disney Studios Park

We visited Disneyland Paris in January 2023. It was the first time any of us had visited. A month after our return home, we are all still in awe of our experience and cannot wait to return. We spent 2 days at the attraction and so with a limited amount of time, we had to carefully plan our visit. Disneyland Paris comprises of two parks – Walt Disney Studios Park and Disneyland Park. I had read various blog posts online which suggested Disneyland Park had the most attractions, so we decided to spend half a day in the Studios Park and one and a half days in Disneyland Park.

Walt Disney Studios Park

Walt Disney Studios Park will always hold a special place in my heart as it was the first place we headed to upon our arrival. Passing through the ticket booth, we were awe-stricken as we caught our first glimpses of the park.

The Studios contain a thrilling mixture of attractions and rides. Here you’ll find the Marvel Avengers Campus as well as the Worlds of Pixar.

Marvel Avengers Campus

The first place we headed to was the Marvel Avengers Campus. This part of the attraction contains a number of Marvel-themed rides, restaurants and shops. We headed straight for the Spiderman W.E.B. Adventure ride.

This was a really gentle but fun-filled ride in which we helped Spiderman to blast the Spider bots. Slinging our own webs as we were spun through the ride, we were in awe of the special effects. The technology used to create this ride was absolutely amazing.

The ride led us out into a shop that was filled with Marvel merchandise. We were thrilled to see Spiderman climbing the roof too.

Another ride we sampled was Avengers Assemble: Flight Force. This ride was not for the faint of heart. It is a big thrill ride which means it is super fast. This is a roller-coaster style ride which has subsequently put my daughter off rollercoasters (much to my delight). It was incredibly fast!

I love it at Disneyland when a crowd begins to gather. It means something awesome is about the happen! Walking around the Campus, we saw a crowd accumulate. Captain America appeared to entertain the children (and adults).

Although we didn’t have time to stop and eat, there are plenty of eateries in the Marvel Avengers Campus, including Stark Factory.

Worlds of Pixar

I do absolutely love some of the Disney Pixar movies, and Ratatouille is probably my favourite. I was really excited to board Ratatouille: A Recipe for Adventure. This was a really gentle yet exciting ride that is suitable for the whole family. In this ride, passengers experience the world of Remy as Remy himself. This is a 4D experience and one not soon forgotten!

Through some amazing graphics and special effects, we were shrunk down to the size of a mouse. This was one of those rides that are incredibly popular with visitors and a must-ride!

The whole area around the ride is Ratatouille themed. You can eat at the Bistrot Chez Rémy! Or shop at the Chez Marianne – an Art-decor style store that is filled with wonderful sweet treats and wonderful gifts.

The streets in this section were lined with market stalls selling all sorts of delicious delights and gifts.

As a child, I watched Toy Story over and over again.

One ride we were really keen to sample was the Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop, a toy story-themed ride. This ride isn’t for those who are scared of heights but it is suitable for young children.

I have always been a huge fan of Monster Inc. We had a go at the scream station and even saw Boo’s bedroom door!

Production Courtyard

One ride we were all too terrified to sample, yet made a great backdrop for a photo is the Hollywood Tower Hotel. This is a haunted hotel-style ride that sees riders plunged from the top floor in an elevator. Far too scary for us!

One ride we all thoroughly enjoyed was the Flying Carpets Over Agrabah. This is an Aladdin-themed ride that is rather gentle and suitable for all ages. Riders are able to move their cart up and down using the lever which caused many tummy tickles and hilarity.

My daughter spotted a face painting booth in the Front Lot. Here, she was transformed into Captain Jack Sparrow. The face painters here are extremely talented and the face paint was worth the 15 euros we paid. Cast members and visitors alike commented on how amazing she looked!

Food

In Walt Disney Studios park you’ll find plenty to eat. Options range from a full dining experience, such as Bistrot Chez Rémy. Much like the ride, in this restaurant, you’ll be shrunk down to the size of Remy for this dining delight. Prices are pretty steep, a starter and a main course will cost around 40 euros for an adult and 30 euros for a child. As with all restaurants at Disney, it is recommended to book your reservation in advance. Table reservations are available on the Disney app two months in advance and reservations go fast.

We chose not to book a reservation so we were not constricted to a particular time. We enjoyed a full breakfast at our hotel, Marne La Vallee and so opted for a pit stop and a snack at Hep Cat Corner.

This restaurant sold lots of Disney-themed ice cream, cookies and cakes. The perfect place to grab a quick snack and a hot drink. I particularly enjoyed the 30th anniversary Madeleine which was utterly delicious. Prices were very reasonable too.

If we had more time, I would have spent a full day or even longer at Walt Disney Studios Park. There was an incredible amount to see and do. It seemed there was a surprise around every corner and we really did feel part of the magic!
