Disneyland Paris – Staycity Marne la Vallée

Disneyland Paris – Staycity Marne la Vallée

We booked our recent trip to Disneyland, Paris through Love Holidays. The package included 4 nights at the Staycity Marne la Vallée Hotel and a flight with Easyjet. I read innumerable reviews online to find the best hotel for our budget. I had read nothing but positive things about Staycity Marne la Vallée so I knew this would be the hotel for us. Marne la Vallée is a sister hotel to Disneyland, Paris and although not on the Disneyland site itself, it is very close to the attraction.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by 2 very friendly members of staff at the 24-hour reception desk. We checked in and were given the key card to our room. Our room was on the first floor which we reached via the lift. There are 2 lifts located near the entrance to the hotel which access all floors. Happily, we never had to queue for the lift during our visit. I was surprised by this as the hotel is absolutely huge.

Studio Apartment

Again, after much research, we opted for a studio apartment that is designed to sleep 3 to 4 people. We were incredibly pleased with our room selection! Entering the apartment, the key card operates the lighting and electricity in the room. There is a coat hook behind the door as well as a thermostat.

The room was lovely and warm when we arrived, which we appreciated as we visited in January. Throughout our stay, the apartment was comfortably warm and cosy.

The room included a double wardrobe with coat hangers. Also located in the wardrobe is an ironing board, iron, and hairdryer. We also found clean bedding for the sofa beds in the wardrobe which was neatly packed away.

The bathroom was incredibly spacious. It included all necessities – a toilet, a sink with modern taps, and a bath with an overhead shower.

The shower was powerful (a treat as we often find in hotels the water pressure is poor). We were provided with plenty of towels and reception staff told us we could request more towels as needed.

The Apartment – Practical and Comfortable

The studio apartment included a fabulous kitchenette. We had use of a kettle, coffee machine, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, hob and sink. There was an impressive amount of cupboard space for storage. Other cupboards and drawers were filled with crockery, cutlery, cups and glassware. The kitchenette also included pots and pans and cooking utensils.

Our kingsize bed was unbelievably comfortable and felt absolutely huge. The pillows were soft and we had plenty of them. Our daughter slept on one of the two sofa beds. The sofa bed was not low to the ground but the height of a regular bed. I found myself sleeping on the sofa bed one night and can confirm it was just as comfortable as the bed! All the bedding was clean and soft, we had a duvet for the kingsize bed as well as one each for the sofa beds.

The Studio Apartment had a TV, which was connected to Youtube. We also had a small dining table with 4 chairs and a coffee table too. There was plenty of room for the three of us and I would say 4 adults could stay comfortably in the room as there was ample floor space.

Food

Our stay included breakfast each morning which we had in the hotel restaurant. I can find absolutely no fault with the breakfast whatsoever. Breakfast was buffet style and there was no limit to the amount of food or drink we could have.

Beverages included hot drinks from 4 drinks machines and apple juice, orange juice and fruit juice from a drinks dispenser. Milk was also available either to drink or to use with cereal. There were a variety of different cereal options.

A hot breakfast option was available which included hash browns, bacon, sausage, and beans. Toast could be made on an industrial toaster machine. I particularly enjoyed the pastries each morning and probably ate my body weight in croissants!

Fresh fruit and yogurts were also to hand as well as a variety of fresh bread. One firm favourite amongst the children was the pancake maker. The children really enjoyed watching their pancakes cook in the machine and then adding a variety of toppings to them, such as Nutella, jam and syrup.

Importantly for us, the restaurant served food in the evening. Food was served between 6 pm and 10.30 pm.

The menu had a great variety of dishes and each dish was absolutely delicious.

Furthermore, the menu was extremely reasonably priced. To give you some idea, a large Margherita pizza cost 15 euros.

Hotel Facilities

In the hotel lobby, you will find a small self-serve shop which is located next to the reception area. This was a great place to grab some essentials for the evening, such as drinks and snacks.

We enjoyed a game of pool at the pool table in the evening.

To keep the kids entertained, there is a small arcade. Our daughter did enjoy playing on these machines in the evening.

Close to the arcade is a cafe or bar area. Hot food can be purchased from here and either eaten in this area or taken to your room. They serve alcohol and hot drinks as well as snacks and cakes.

The hotel also boasts an outdoor swimming pool which was closed as we were visiting out of season. There is also a lake that is frequented by ducks and swans and is very picturesque. Staycity Marne la Vallée guests can have access to their on-site gym, this was something we didn’t make use of during our visit.

Location

The hotel is very close to Disneyland. It is a short 5-minute bus ride to the park. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to and from Disneyland. It is bright yellow and hard to miss which makes it easier to find in the bus terminal! The shuttle bus was great.

The bus runs throughout the day, every half hour in the mornings and evenings. During our stay, the bus did get a little busy but was never too full. I had read some reviews relating to other hotels which complained the shuttle bus was busy and often too full for guests. We never found this to be the case with our shuttle bus. It was always on time, according to the timetable. I did spot a second bus on the hotel site which I imagine is used during the peak season to avoid the problem of overcrowding.

Why We Will Be Visiting Again

Staycity Marne la Vallée has a really nice overall vibe. The hotel is bright and vibrant and the staff are incredibly friendly. One thing we all commented on was the cleanliness of the hotel. It was absolutely spotless! The hotel is located close to Disneyland Paris and the shuttle bus was fantastic. Every meal we had was delicious and very reasonably priced. Our room was comfortable and spacious.

Without a doubt, we will be staying at Staycity Marne la Vallée when we return to Disneyland, Paris and cannot wait for our next visit!

So the hotel isn’t operated by Disney, it’s just nearby and has a regular shuttle bus? I didn’t think the hotel looked like a hotel you’d expect to be owned by Disney. It does look like a great hotel nonetheless
