Visiting Robin Hill on the Isle of Wight will probably go down as one of those “I didn’t expect this to be so good” days. I went on a bright spring day (just after their 2025 season opening) with a mix of excitement and casual optimism — I’d heard about new attractions, revamped gardens, promise of thrills and peaceful walks. It turned out to be a day where all of that came together.
Here’s what it was like, what I did, what I think makes Robin Hill so special and why it’s the perfect family day out.
Our Visit
Pulling into the car park, I was struck by how spacious everything felt. Robin Hill is an 88-acre adventure park (plus gardens), set in rolling hills, woodland and landscaped ponds. The welcome is friendly, the entrance to the site leads you through the gift shop which was stacked with reasonably priced goodies. There are plenty of staff throughout the site – at the entrance, paths leading in through trees, glimpses of play areas in the distance. The sense is: you’re stepping into somewhere that wants you to have a full, relaxed day. Not just rides, but space, nature, discovery. It’s very lush and green!
Attractions
I’ll take you through our route and the attractions we enjoyed as we found them on our route round. I cannot emphasise enough just how massive the site is.
We began our visit with some rope climbing and a tree trail.

The views from the top of the trees were spectacular (so I’m told). I couldn’t bring myself to climb to the top but my daughter did.

We made our way through the woodland area along the gentle paths and found diggers and explored the woods.

The toboggan run looked absolutely terrifying! My younger daughter did enjoy the thrill of being pulled up the hill to come down the other side.

Close to the toboggan run, there’s a large park and some huge slides!

The gardens throughout the grounds are utterly stunning. The wobble bridges across the ponds made for plenty of fun.

We spent far too long enjoying ourselves on the crazy golf course. There are plenty of statues along the course which seemed to slow us down! But the game was lots of fun and fortunately, it wasn’t too busy.

The highlight of the day for me was our journey on the boating lake. This was the first time i have allowed my daughter to take control of a moving vehicle and she did rather well! It was a great way to see a beautiful section of the park grounds.

The final hour of our visit was spent in the maze. We all enjoy a good maze and this one did not disappoint!

Sadly, we didn’t get a chance to explore all we wanted to, for instance, the falconry show and the ice rink but these attractions are on the list for the next time we visit!
Facilities
There are ample toilets at various points at Robin Hill including disabled facilities. We brought our own picnic and found plenty of benches to enjoy our food and to take a break at various points throughout our visit. There are also facilities to purchase drinks and hot and cold food.
What I’d Recommend: Tips & Best Moments
From my visit, here are things I’d suggest doing or being aware of:
- Arrive early (park opening): the queues are shorter, and you can grab the “must-do” parts before midday crowds.
- Wear comfortable shoes. There’s walking, some inclines, slopes, woodland paths, and you’ll want to explore the gardens in between the adventures.
- Bring layers. Even when sunny, woodland shade can be cool; also, some rides or high-towers feel breezy.
- Check show times (falconry etc.) so you don’t miss them.
- Plan which attractions you want most — the Adrenaline Zone is ticketed separately, so if you’re eager for that, budget time and money for it.
