Essential Items for a Trip to Disneyland Paris

Essential Items for a Trip to Disneyland Paris

We came back from our trip to Disneyland Paris about a month ago now. Prior to our travels, we scoured the internet looking for guides on what to take for this trip of a lifetime. We’ve put together a comprehensive guide based on our experience of essential items to take to Disneyland Paris.

1. Camera

Trust me, you are going to take innumerable pictures at Disneyland. Every ride, character, and show you will photograph thousands of times. It’s essential to bring a good quality camera. I have a number of decent DSLR cameras, but for me, it was better to take photos on my iPhone. The camera is excellent with quality on par with my professional cameras. Relying on my iPhone also saved space in my luggage and meant I didn’t have to carry around my heavy cameras whilst visiting Disneyland. Whether you rely on your phone, or a camera, ensure you have enough storage space as memory cards and internal storage will fill up quickly! Also, make sure you’re happy with the quality of images the camera will produce. You will be sure to capture some magical moments so ensure that they are frame-worthy!

2. Phone Charger

As I relied on my iPhone for photos and videos, my phone battery drained extremely quickly. I brought along 2 portable chargers which were also used up by the end of the day. Without my portable chargers, I would have been lost. These are really small and light and fit unnoticeably inside a backpack or handbag.

3. Backpack

I was initially unsure whether or not backpacks were permitted in Disneyland Paris. I did bring a large backpack and a smaller one with me to Paris and found the small backpack to be more suited for our visit. Most of the rides permit you to bring your bag with you and a large bulky backpack would have been problematic when embarking and disembarking the rides. My small backpack fitted rather neatly into the foot well of each ride we went on. Just make sure your backpack is big enough to hold all the items you bring to the park. Also, a backpack with secure pockets is essential. We were warned about pickpockets prior to our visit and at times throughout our visit to Disneyland Paris, we were amongst huge crowds where pickpockets would have found it easy pickings. My small backpack enabled me to keep my valuables in a secure pocket, this made me feel a lot safer when in and amongst those huge crowds.

4. Watch

With frequent shows and character meets at set times throughout the day, it was essential we kept an eye on the time. A reliable watch is an absolute necessity at Disneyland. In looking for the perfect watch I can recommend the excellent range of watches from Trendhim.

Prior to our trip, I purchased an uttelry stunning watch from Trendhim for my husband. It’s no exaggeration to say it was increidbly difficult to choose the right watch for him. Trendhim offer an unbelievablely extensive collection of impressive watches for men.

Eventually, I decided upon the Silver-Tone Provectus watch. This beautiful timepiece not only has a large clear dial but also enables you to set 2 smaller 12 hour dials to different time zones. This makes it the perfect watch for travel! We were concerned about having our belongings stolen or loosing them whilst in Disneyland. However the Provectus watch sits very securely on the wrist with no chance of coming loose whilst enjoying the thrill of a roller coaster.

We always loose track of the time and date whilst on our holidays, the days and hours seem to roll into one. The date dial enables you to keep track of the days whilst enjoying your escape! This was the perfect watch to take with us on our travels!

5. Raincoat

Depending on what time of year you visit Disneyland, you might want to consider bringing along a raincoat. If we hadn’t brought along our raincoats, our trip would have been ruined. We were caught out in the rain and saw multitudes of people scrambling to find shelter. The indoor areas fill up quickly under such circumstances and it’s not always practical to give up your place in a queue once the heavens start to open (especially if you have been queuing for an hour or more!)

Others bought rain ponchos. These were rather expensive, at around 12 euros each and sold out very quickly. We brought lightweight raincoats which folded down and were stored in the backpack when not in use.

6. Coins

We are all moving towards a cashless society. However, quite often cash is still king! Although we didn’t experience this ourselves, the card machines at Disneyland can sometimes fail to work. There are cash machines on site, but if the card machines in the shop are down, the queues can be just as long as the queue for the rides. We brought along a little cash with us just in case.

But you will definitely need coins if you want to buy some of Disney’s collectors’ coins from the machines. The coins cost 2 euros each and are available throughout Disneyland park or in Disneyland Village.

7. Small Umbrella

For those moments we found ourselves caught in the rain, we were grateful for our small umbrellas. They were easily packed away into our backpacks when not in use but helped to keep us dry during the frequent downpours. A small umbrella really is an essential item for a visit to Disneyland Paris!

8. Disneyland App

You can’t really make the most of all Disneyland has to offer without the Disneyland app. We all downloaded the app onto our phones. The app gives you all the showtimes, and character meets and their locations. Importantly, they also provided queue times. If we wanted to go on a particular ride, we just checked the queue time to see if it was a suitable time to head in that particular direction. It was also great for locating restaurants and eateries. When we wanted a quick snack, we could find the perfect place. The app also allows you to book a table at a restaurant.

9. Pen and Autograph Book

Character meets are such a wonderful expeirence at Disneyland. Be sure to get those all important autographs from the characters you meet. Pens and autograph books can be purchased before your visit or there is a huge selection of pens and autograph books to choose from once you arrive at Disneyland.

10. Snacks

If you’re planning on enjoying all the park has to offer, be prepared to wait in line for the many rides and attractions at Disneyland. If you’re traveling to Disnelynad with children, snacks are essential to keep them fuelled and occupied during your visit. We brought small sweets and chocloates to keep our daughter happy throughout the long days.
